3 Best Quick & Easy Golf Stretches Before You Tee Off

Just a few easy stretches before you get to the tee will help you get limber fast and can really improve your day on the links. We often just want to get out there and start swinging, but these simple stretches (targeting a few key muscle groups) can also help to reduce soreness and stiffness.

Lower BackEvery golfer needs this one... Lay on your back and bend one knee up. Grab your knee with both hands. Arch forward and gently pull your knee to your chest and hold it 10 seconds. Feel it stretching your lower back and glutes. Now switch to your other knee. Do this 5-times each side. Then, bring both knees to your chest for the same amount of time and reps. You'll really feel the difference when you get on the course. Also, consider trying a light weight Advanced Back Pro compression belt while playing. It can help keep muscles warm while giving the support you need.

Chest – You use your pecs every time you swing, and they need to be loose. Stand in front of an open doorway, raise your arms shoulder high and place the palms of your hands on each door frame. Lean your upper torso forward while pushing against the frame. You should feel it stretching your chest and sternum. Hold each time for 10 seconds, 5 times.

Calves & Thighs – Every time you drive the ball you'll be pushing off with your calves and and thighs. To loosen them up, face a wall from an arm's length away. Keeping your right leg and back straight, bend your left knee forward, then lean into the wall keeping your elbows bent, slightly pushing off the front of your foot. Hold it for about 10 seconds then switch legs. Do it 5-10 times each.
