Olive Oil — This totally tasty oil is just loaded with monounsaturated fats and antioxidants that lower the bad and raise the good! It also features anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties as well. And it is incredible on broccoli and sautéed spinach with garlic!

Oatmeal — Whole grains are great at lowering bad cholesterol because soluble fiber’s job is to stop it from getting into the blood stream. They say you want to have about a quarter cup of oatmeal or 5 – 10 grams of fiber every day.

Pinto Beans — They’re great in Mexican food for more than their taste. There’s a lot of soluble fiber in these beans which again slows cholesterol from entering the system. And they are very high in antioxidants. Good choice!

Blueberries — It seems these berries are on every list we’ve had on healthy stuff to eat and this one’s no exception. If your goal is lowering your risk of cardiovascular disease, then include them in your weekly diet to help lower the bad LDL in your body!

Tomatoes — Lycopene is found in tomatoes and tomato products like ketchup and sauce. Bottom line is that it lowers the bad stuff and raises the good stuff. It’s suggested you eat 25 milligrams a day and after a short while you’ll start to notice a difference.

Avocados — They’re not only great on sandwiches, salads, and guacamole, they’re healthy in so many ways. At a slower pace, eating avocados boosts the good HDL while lowering the bad LDL. They also lower triglycerides in the blood and are jam packed with the same kind of healthy fats found in olive oil.
